Brownie

Brownie will climb into a lap, roll over onto her back, and settle in like the two of you have been doing this for years.<br/>She is a compact brown dog with a white patch on her chest and a pair of ears that never quite agree with each other. Before the shelter, Brownie lived in the neighborhood. People knew her, people fed her, and nobody took her in. Her body carries the record of that time. She has raised at least one litter of puppies out there on her own.<br/>None of it soured her. What Brownie wants now is the part she never had. A blanket, a warm spot, somebody willing to sit still for a while. She leans in, she rolls over, she asks to be touched. She crates well and goes in without an argument, which makes the first few nights in a new house easier on everybody. She is dog friendly, and she is gentle with children.<br/>One honest thing before you apply. Brownie came to us as a stray, so what we know about her is what she has shown us here. She has done fine around cats, and we would still call that short of a reliable test, so a slow supervised introduction is the right way to start her in a home with one.<br/>We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
