Brooklyn's Story

My life was going great until, suddenly my owner/caretaker died on me! Suddenly I was without my best friend and companion. We did everything together. Then a nice young lady keep me for several weeks in the Glen Lennox area of Chapel Hill. Finally, I relocated to a 2 acre wooded house south of Chapel Hill where I am now fostered, looking for my Fur-ever home. As boxers go I am a lower energy dog. I walk without pulling on a leash which is very unusual for boxers. As a former inside-the-house orientated city dog, it has been an adjustment for me to get used to so many trees, brush, fallen trees and the like. But I am exploring the great outdoors and walking with my master in the woods.. I excel at bathroom duties. I will bark or whine when it is time to go outside to perform my bathroom duties. I am crate trained and will rest and sleep inside my Crate watching all that is going on inside my home. I am a somewhat fussy eater, but have been enjoying turkey gravy flavored dog food this Thanksgiving season. I love being with people and establish a new emotional bond with new people quickly. I have not yet learned English but will tell my master what I want by making noises (barking, whining, rumbling noises) that certain things would be good to do such as: 1 BATHROOM time, please take me outside 2 more dog food 3 fresh water, not the 2 days old stuff 4 How about a belly rub? As an added attraction to the master-pet scene, I am willing to hop into your bathtub with you for group spa days. Not all dogs will do this with their masters. In keeping with her boxer genetics, Brooklyn does have two small mast cell tumors. Given their location, they are not removable. At this time, there is no evidence of further spread and no quality of life changes! Brooklyn is looking for a loving home to let her live out her golden years being happy and loved! Please visit our website www.beautifultogether.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
