Brodie's Story

Brodie and his brother Monty arrived at NCCR on 8/22/26, transferred out of a full-to-capacity shelter that ran out of room. He is a 5-6 month old neutered male mixed breed. He is currently around 27 lbs. and is likely to weigh around 40-50 Ibs. when full-grown. Brodie gets along fine with other dogs, and is also good with kids and cats. With the usual training and attention all puppies need, Brodie will soon become your best friend and lifelong companion!
More pictures and info to come as we get to know him better.
*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit.
Not sure if you are ready to adopt? You may also apply to foster him, which will lead to a happily ever after adoption, either with you, or the family you help get him ready for, which is an incredibly rewarding experience.
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.
We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will not be able to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
