Brittany's Story

🐾Meet Brittany🐾

Brittany is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix and she is looking for her forever home!

Brittany is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, is microchipped, and spayed. She's ready to go home! She came to us with puppies but is ready to find a family of her own now. While in foster, we learned that she's great with kids and women. She does take some time to warm up to men, but she gets there with some time and understanding! While she does need a home without cats, she does really well with some dogs, but can be selective so we strongly recommend a meet-and-greet with any other dogs in the home to make sure they're the right fit. She does resource guard her food (which isn't uncommon for a mama dog who has had to raise puppies in not ideal circumstances) so she will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the home and will need someone who will work with her on feeling confident and safe with her food. She is extremely intelligent, playful, and eager to please! She just needs someone to finally give her the care and attention she deserves.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website or in person. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We are open Wed-Thu 12-7 and Fri-Sun 12-4 if you'd like to come visit!

This month we are partnering with TCC, Verizon Authorized Retailer and Wireless Zone, Verizon Authorized Retailer for our Rescues Rock Adoption Event! Be sure to come see us on May 17th, from 1–5pm!

(Follow her for a chance to win a FREE portrait photoshoot when she reaches 1,000 followers)

Warrick Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The Warrick Humane Society is a no-kill organization. Once an animal is rescued by WHS, it is saved for life. We will not release an animal to another organization that has a policy of euthanasia. In addition, we will only place animals with qualified prospective owners. We do not adopt out dogs or cats that will be kept outside. We only want loving indoor homes for our pets. We do thorough checks on all of our potential adopters before sending them to their fur-ever home. We also require that if you adopt a pet from us and are no longer able to keep it that it be returned to us, so that we can find it a new home.
