Bright's Story

This darling was found as a stray and never reclaimed... perhaps it was because she is old and a bit sassy? Perhaps her owner too was elderly and was no longer able to care for her. It is impossible to say what led this little bits to us.

Bright - was named so after she was picked up from animal control. She needed to know she was special and she was instantly loved.

This tatty little mess is about 9-10 years old. She is a small bit of attitude and lots of love in 8lbs of York. She is great with kids, cats and other dogs. She also travels well - curls up in her tuffet and sleeps.

While she acts like a puppy and is playful and active, she is older. She only has 5 teeth in her face and she isn't above showing them to another dog when she is eating. Bright is fed in her cage as she thinks she is a big dog and will stand up to anyone who thinks they might want part of her meal.

While we all know age is not a disease, we are disclosing she may be considered a fospice candidate. Bright has breast masses that are inoperable. Her surgery would require a double chain mastectomy. We feel it is not worth the risk on her tiny body.
She takes Metacam and a heart supplement daily
