Brick's Story
Meet Brick!

Brick is an absolute sweetheart with the kind of soulful eyes and goofy charm that will melt your heart in an instant. This handsome boy is equal parts adorable and lovable, and once he decides you're his person, you'll have a devoted snuggle buddy for life.

Brick has grown so much in confidence since coming into his foster home. He's learning that structure and consistency are wonderful things. Brick has really enjoyed having foster siblings to play with and foster parents who show him that people can be kind, patient, and the best snuggle buddies around. He went from taking five careful minutes just to come in the back door to now racing outside to play. These days, he's the reigning king of snuggly hams in his foster home.

He does well on a leash and is learning that his good-boy manners apply whether he's walking solo or with the pack. He gets a little excited when his foster siblings join the walk, but he's smart and picking up quickly on how to keep those same good manners going, even with company along. Brick also travels well in the car, especially after a bit of mental stimulation beforehand. You can see how much he wants to be brave for his humans, and with each day, he gets a little closer. With the resident cats, he's incredibly respectful. He'd love to be best friends with them, though he's a little intimidated by them, too.

Brick does have two arch nemeses: the dreaded vacuum and his daytime kennel. His foster family has been patiently working with him to make the kennel a positive space, and he's making real progress, even though he's not quite a fan yet. Funny enough, he sleeps in it like a champ every night!

With patience to help him keep building his confidence, Brick will be the absolute dream dog. And as the cherry on top, he gives the sweetest, most gentle nose-boop kisses.

Brick is approximately one year old and weighs 38 pounds. He has a docked tail. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, and is currently on flea and heartworm preventatives.

Thanks for considering a dog from Texas Cattle Dog Rescue!
