Bren's Story

Bren is an approximately one-year-old, 52-pound sweetheart currently in foster care in Terlingua. With her gentle nature and excellent house manners, Bren is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart.

Bren is an easygoing girl who enjoys the simple comforts of home. She loves curling up next to her person on the sofa in the evenings and has made her crate her cozy safe space, often choosing to relax there even when the door is open. She is housetrained, does well when left alone, and is happy to entertain herself with toys and tasty chews. Bren isn’t demanding of attention and is content to simply be near her people.

One of Bren’s biggest strengths is how well she does with other dogs. She plays nicely, blends in easily with her canine friends, and shows very little nervousness when meeting new dogs. Having another calm, confident dog in the home would likely help Bren feel even more secure, especially when learning new things like leash walking. Her foster describes Bren as super sweet, sensitive, and loving, and says she has made wonderful progress since arriving.

Bren is still gaining confidence with the outside world and continues to improve daily. She can be startled by loud noises, such as thunder or barking dogs, and is most comfortable in quiet, familiar places. Bren would thrive in a calm home with a patient caregiver who understands that shy dogs bloom with kindness and consistency. We have no doubt Bren will make for an incredibly loyal and devoted companion!

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/adopt
