Breezy's Story

Meet Breezy (aka Momma)

Breezy is a 3-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix with the gentlest soul and the quietest strength. She was heartbreakingly thrown from a car with her puppies on a freezing night — but despite everything she endured, she protected her babies and is now safe, healing, and ready for a forever home of her own.

Breezy is just beginning to understand what it means to relax. In a loving foster home, she’s learning that soft beds, gentle voices, and kindness are things she gets to have, too. She’s incredibly devoted to her puppies and has the sweetest, most nurturing heart.

When meeting new people — especially men — Breezy is shy and may try to hide at first. Her timidness suggests she didn’t always know safety in her past. But give her patience and softness, and she blossoms. Once she trusts you, her goofy little personality comes out and she absolutely melts for attention.

Breezy has an old leg injury that healed improperly, so she gets around comfortably on three legs. It doesn’t stop her from living her life — she just prefers a calmer pace and isn’t much for roughhousing. She would do best with a laid-back dog companion (or as your one and only), and she doesn’t mind cats.

Because she’s sensitive and easily startled, Breezy would thrive in a quieter home with older children or no children. A calm, predictable environment will help her continue building confidence.

She sleeps in her crate at night but can also be trusted out in the home. She had just one accident her first day in foster care and has been accident-free since.

Breezy is currently in foster care, learning what love feels like — but she’s ready for a home that’s truly hers. She doesn’t need much. Just patience, gentleness, and someone who will show her that the hard part of her story is over.

Could you be the safe place Breezy has always deserved?
