I'm currently living my best life in a foster home after spending three months at the shelter. I adjusted to home life SO fast. Within 72 hours I had figured out the routine and made myself right at home. I come pretty well-equipped for a young guy. I'm potty trained, house-trained, and my crate game is strong. I go in easily, settle without barking or fussing, and stay quiet even when I know my people are home. I know sit, paw, lay, stay, and here, and I now have full run of the house during the day without getting into anything that isn't mine. I'm a little shadow who likes to keep my people close, but I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety. I dive right into new situations, do great in the car, and handle public settings like a pro. I'm quick to trust whoever I'm handed off to and love making friends with new dogs and humans. I'm very adaptable and pretty fearless, sometimes literally, like the time I dove headfirst into a pool without knowing how to swim. I am very dog friendly and read other dogs' cues well. I live with a young foster dog, have been to doggie camp multiple times including overnight, and have had 1:1 meets with new dogs. Great every single time. Zero food or toy aggression. I've also been introduced to two cats. I was curious, but didn't chase, and when she hissed I just walked away. I proved I'm a people dog too. I went on a daycation with kids and loved it. I think I'm a lap dog and I'm not totally aware of personal space, but I don't mind being moved. I've become really cuddly and love pets. I'll slowly sink into the ground the more you give me. My favorite greeting is a big slobbery kiss. I can be a little excited when I first meet you, but I settle quickly. Day-to-day I'm pretty easy. Quiet in the house, rarely bark, and self-entertain well. I do like to play with my foster brother, but if we get separated to settle down, I don't whine or cry. I'm still a very active, athletic dog who does best with sufficient exercise, but I settle much more quickly now. I can be strong on the leash until I settle into a walk, but I'm picking up leash manners fast. I'm learning loose leash walking and to check in, and I genuinely want to please my people. I'm still curious about squirrels and birds, but once I look for a minute, I ignore them and take a treat instead. My ideal home is an active family and/or a canine sibling who I can play with to get my energy out. I'd make a great adventure buddy as I love meeting new people, dogs, and going to new places. I'll repay you with lots of laughs, cuddles, and kisses.
