Brave Boone's Story

Currently being fostered in Louisiana! Boone should not be as happy as he is.

When he was found, he was lying against the side of a warehouse, unable to walk, exhausted, and in pain. His paw pads were worn raw. He had a wound in his mouth so severe it had created a hole into his nasal cavity. However it happened- infection, trauma, something worse- he had been living with it for a long time.

And then, just as he was recovering from his surgical mouth repair, he nearly didn’t make it through bloat. Emergency surgery. Another setback. Another fight.

But Boone just... keeps going.

Now? He’s a completely different dog. Healthy, safe, and learning what it means to be loved. He’s gentle with other dogs, kind and easy with people, and has this soft, happy way about him that doesn’t match everything he’s been through. He crates perfectly, settles in easily, and is figuring out home life more and more every day. He’s not asking for much- he's already recieved so much.

Boone has done all the hard parts already. He survived, he healed, he trusted again.

The only thing he’s missing now is a home that’s actually his.

Helpless Hounds Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
For a complete list of our adoption criteria, please visit: https://www.helplesshounds.com/faqs NOTE: You must complete and submit an application and be approved to adopt prior to being able to meet the dog. We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always try to select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs and try to find the best match for both dog and human. We leave a dog’s profile online until either it has been adopted, or has received several applications. We are a non-profit organization that spends our adoption fees and donations on vaccinations, surgeries, various medical tests, medicines, food and supplies needed by our dogs. Our fees do not cover the overall expenses incurred by the care of our dogs, but they do help defray the costs involved. We thank you for your support.
