Bowser's Story

Meet Bowser! A Big Guy with an Even Bigger Heart

Bowser is a sweet, lovable 9-year-old gentleman who is hoping for a second chance at a happy life with a family of his own. Through no fault of his own, Bowser needs to be rehomed because of changes in his family’s circumstances and housing situation. His family is understandably sad to have to make this decision, and now we’re hoping to help this wonderful boy find the loving home he deserves.

At around 86 pounds, Bowser may be a big guy, but he hasn’t let that stop him from thinking he’s a lap dog! He’s an affectionate, friendly companion who loves spending time with his people and is happiest when he can simply hang out, relax, and enjoy their company. If you appreciate a dog who is just as happy snoozing beside you as he is soaking up some affection, Bowser could be your perfect match.

Bowser is accustomed to living with two cats and has experience around children, making him a potential fit for a variety of households. He has also had friendly interactions with other dogs, although he hasn’t had much experience spending time with them independently. As with any new pet, thoughtful introductions will be important when meeting resident animals.

Right now, Bowser really needs someone to give him a little help. While he waits for a foster home or adopter, he is spending approximately 10 hours a day alone in a crate. At this stage of his life, he deserves so much more — a comfortable place to rest, companionship throughout the day, and people to love who will make him feel like part of the family again.

We can picture Bowser thriving in a peaceful home where he can settle into a comfortable routine, keep his favorite people company, and enjoy all the simple pleasures that make life good. He could be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a single dog or potentially join a home with other friendly pets, provided introductions and compatibility are a good fit. Above all, he needs a family willing to welcome a big, affectionate, easygoing gentleman into their lives and give him the security and love he deserves.

Bowser is 9 years old, up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and healthy. He is ready to make the transition into a loving home and start his next chapter.
Could you be the person who gives Bowser the fresh start he needs? Whether you can offer him a foster home or a forever home, helping this sweet boy find a safe, loving place to land would make all the
difference.

If you think you would be a good fit for Bowser, please fill out our required application which can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SPLC/Dog

For the safety of our animals, home checks are a requirement of adoption, but we make this as unobtrusive and convenient as possible.

THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog!
