Bourbon's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bourbon loves walks! He's all beagle so he does like to sniff a lot, but he is pretty easy on leash. He came to us along with Beasley about six months ago. They were both very fearful and unsocialized, but with time, patience and love they have both grown much more confident. Even though he loves walks, we will require a fenced yard for Bourbon as he us a flight risk. Another dog would be helpful, but not required. We don't know about cats, but older children would be fine. Bourbon is making straight As in housetraining and his foster family does not crate him any more (they did in the beginning). They have left him at home alone with their other dog for up to 5-6 hours and he has been fine. He has played with another dog but really needs a play partner who is gentle as he can get scared if play is too rough. He has no interest in toys but does like his food. Bourbon used to seek safety under the bed or under a dining room table. He will still go under the bed, but if the bedroom door is closed he will curl up in a chair in the family room. In the evenings he will come up on the couch and cuddle with his foster parents and the other dog. But truly his favorite thing is walks and he loves to pick up sticks and play with them on the way. Bourbon is heartworm negative and ready to go.
