Bourbon's Story
MEET MISS BOURBON

She doesn’t want to share her home. She just wants to share her whole heart with you.

Some dogs come into rescue and immediately make you wonder how they ever ended up needing rescue in the first place.

Miss Bourbon is one of those dogs.

She found herself at animal control—scared, alone, and completely unsure of what was happening or where she belonged. We quickly scooped her up, and it didn’t take us long to realize something:

This girl is special. Really, really special.

Bourbon is the kind of dog who loves with her entire heart. She is incredibly affectionate, sweet beyond words, and happiest when she is close to her person. She doesn’t need a house full of excitement. She doesn’t need a bunch of furry siblings.

She just wants YOU.

And we know asking for an only-pet home makes finding her forever a little harder. Bourbon can become overstimulated with aggressive or rough play, so after getting to know her and considering what will allow her to truly thrive, we believe she deserves to be the one and only animal in her home. No other dogs, cats, or livestock.

But please don’t let that make you scroll past her.

Because somewhere out there is someone who isn’t looking for a dog for their dog.

They’re looking for their dog.

Someone who wants a companion waiting for them at the end of the day. Someone who wants a girl who thinks being loved is the greatest thing in the entire world. Someone who has an empty spot beside them on the couch and maybe an even bigger empty spot in their heart.

Bourbon would happily fill both.

At a perfect 43 pounds, she’s not too big and not too small. She’s house trained, crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and already equipped with approximately 147 pounds worth of love packed into a 43-pound body.

She doesn’t need perfection.

She doesn’t need a huge pack.

She doesn’t need another animal to entertain her.

She needs one person or family to look at her and say, “You never have to wonder where you belong again.”

Maybe an only-dog home is harder to find.

But Bourbon only needs us to find ONE.

One home.
One family.
One forever.

And we know you’re out there.

Please share Miss Bourbon. Her person may simply not have seen her yet.

Adoption application:

https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PPWV/Dog
