Boss is the kind of dog that makes you root for the underdog! He was pulled from a shelter with a euthanasia deadline hanging over his head, and despite everything he's been through, he still wakes up every day happy, affectionate, and ready to be part of someone's life.<br/><br/>Boss is a goofy, loving 2-year-old boy who wants to move, explore, and be around his people. He's incredibly affectionate, resilient, and has the sweetest personality. The best way to describe him is joyful. He doesn't know he's a "special case" - he just knows he's alive and ready to be loved!<br/><br/>Boss has a high prey drive and needs a home without small dogs or cats. He does best with other dogs his size who will stand their ground and can handle his rowdy way of playing. He does some resource guarding with toys and treats, so although he isn’t aggressive we won’t adopt him to a home with children under 14.<br/><br/>Boss does have some unique movement quirks. You'll notice his gait can look a little wobbly or clumsy at times. Advanced imaging showed that he has a subarachnoid diverticulum, which is essentially a pocket of spinal fluid that forms along the spinal cord and can interfere with how signals travel between the brain and body. In Boss's case, this is what causes his coordination differences. <br/><br/>The good news is that he remains active, mobile, and happy, and many dogs with this condition continue to live fulfilling lives with the right environment and supportive care. He will need corrective surgery for this. His foster already has money set aside dedicated for this and will be actively working with the rescue to fundraise more. Dogs who get the corrective surgery for this go into live normal healthy lives afterward.<br/><br/>Right now Boss is looking for a special adopter who sees the good in him and is willing to give him the chance he almost never got.
