Boss's Story

Boss is a spunky little guy who is learning what it means to be loved by humans. He is super cuddly once he trusts his people. He is absolutely adorable and his eyes will melt your heart!

Boss has a really cute, super playful personality. He loves to run zoomies in the house and yard and follows his foster mom everywhere. He is learning how nice it is to have snuggly dog beds and blankets on the couch to curl up in.

Boss is guessed to be just under a year old male Rat Terrier and is ready to be loved! His foster mom thinks he was never touched by humans because he was so afraid of her when he first arrived that he growled at her. Being a dog trainer, his foster mom knows that is just nervous fear. If she takes her time and goes at his pace he absolutely loves to be rocked in a rocking chair, being lightly pet and even given kisses on his head.

This handsome young man came to us from Oklahoma and most likely was surrendered to a shelter by a breeder. Rat Terriers are known to be smart, attentive and are very loyal companions. He came in with 3 other Rat Terriers and all of them were very afraid of people so we are not really sure what their history is. He is just needing a patient adopter who is willing to go at his pace and love him the way he needs to be loved.

Boss loves to play with other dogs so he would probably love to have a confident canine buddy in his future home but it is not completely necessary if an adopter has lots of love to share with him.

Boss loves his kennel and sleeps through the night and naps in it during the day.

This handsome boy is waiting patiently to find his FurEver Family and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates shy or unsocialized dogs.

His foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these precious dogs and is working with all the dogs in her care on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, leash and car training.

There are lots of other dogs at his foster mom's house so we know he is dog friendly. His foster doesn't have any cats but thinks he would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. We also think he would be fine with older / calm children.

Please consider this adorable dog as a part of your family. He deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection.

His foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid (discounted) training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training is to teach the adopter how to help the dog be successful in their new home and will help the family and this sweet dog bond and adjust to their new life together. The foster provides a discount on training to her adopters.

Please apply for Boss today!!
