Boots McGee's Story

Meet Boots McGee!
This 3-year-old, 15-pound Jack Russell/Dachshund mix may be small in size, but he's got a big personality and an even bigger heart. Boots came to us as a stray with some pretty severe skin issues, and while we're still working with a dermatologist to get to the bottom of it, he's been an absolute trooper through it all.

Boots is currently on a special diet to help manage his skin and digestive health-and he'll need to stick with it in his forever home. He's also heartworm positive, but don't worry-he's already received his ProHeart-12 injection and is undergoing treatment. A recheck in nine months will make sure he's on track to recovery.

Boots McGee is a quirky little guy who takes his time warming up to new people, but once he knows you, he's loyal, sweet, and full of love. He's not a fan of other animals-he has a high prey drive and would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home where he can truly thrive.

He isn't house-trained yet and could use some help with leash manners, but he's food-motivated and eager to bond with his person. His ideal match? Someone patient, experienced, and ready to help him feel safe, secure, and loved.

Boots McGee is a work in progress-but he's so worth it. If you're looking for a special companion who just needs a little extra care and understanding, this scrappy sweetheart might be the one for you.

Adoption fee is: waived to the right home.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

EIN # 46-5486022
