Bootleg's Story

Meet Bootleg! This distinguished gentleman is as close to perfect as it gets! He is the sweetest boy who loves people, dogs, and yes he is even cat friendly! While Bootleg is a medium-large breed dog, he is absolutely a lapdog. This big baby loves nothing more than curling up on the couch to snuggle with/on his foster parents.

Despite being a hound mix breed, Bootleg is a relatively quiet housemate, only letting out sweet old-man groans during big stretches. Bootleg has been low energy, enjoying a leisurely stroll and sniff around the yard in between naps on the couch. He also does well in the car and is crate and potty trained!

Bootleg came to FRR significantly underweight and heartworm positive. But we are working hard to get this happy boy a clean bill of health! Currently Bootleg is around 40lbs but is expected to gain additional weight. Given his condition, he is food motivated and adorably wags his tail while eating his meals. If given the opportunity, he would gladly be a taste tester of any and all meals (aka we're working on table manners).

If you're looking for an easygoing guy, Bootleg just may be the pup for you!
