Booney's Story

Booney is a mantled Great Dane mix in black and white and is approximately 2 years old. In classic Great Dane style, he is a cuddly boy who LOVES to be with his people and his dog friends [who are small terrier mixes (18 and 21 pounds, respectively)]. We have not tried him around cats or children at this time. Booney is housetrained and crate trained (although he is not overly happy to go in). He is a very curious boy and is always interested in what the action of the home is. Booney is an incredibly happy dog and one with a ton of charm and personality.

Weighing in at 137 pounds, Booney is a gentle giant but a giant nonetheless. Experience with large breeds is needed. We are working on Booney's etiquette around food and his skills on a leash. He is incredibly intelligent and gets concepts so quickly, so we know he will be an excellent companion once taught right from wrong.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
