Boone's Story

Meet Boone! If you're looking for the perfect combination of adventure buddy and professional snuggler, Boone is your guy. This handsome 1.5-year-old pointer/pit mix (we think) weighs 35 lbs and has the biggest heart. Boone is an athletic, playful pup who thrives on walks, runs, and backyard games of fetch or tug-of-war. He's high-energy in all the best ways, and with a good daily walk and some playtime, he transforms into a total couch companion who loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles. Boone makes every walk feel like the best part of your day - he's attentive, fun, and is doing great with learning leash walking manners.

In his foster home, Boone has been respectful and friendly with both the resident senior dogs and cats and even a group of kittens. He gets a little intimidated by bigger dogs, so we think he'd likely be best as an only dog, but he has made amazing progress learning to stay calm and focused around other dogs, and his manners just keep getting better - he has even been through some training with Rosie Dane dog trainers, and he is great walking on a leash. Boone is fully house-trained and doesn't need a crate, though he does best when left in a secure room if you're out.

Boone's perfect match would be an active person or family with a fenced yard and a love for the outdoors. Someone who's ready to make him part of their daily routine, whether it's morning jogs, park adventures, or backyard play. In return, Boone will give you endless loyalty, laughs, and love. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you moving and then happily crash on the couch by your side, Boone may be the one for you!

Interested in adopting? Apply at pbsfdogrescue.org! Must be in the Louisville, KY area or surrounding counties. You will receive an email confirming your application was successfully submitted.

Our founder started this rescue thanks to her dedication and love for saving "death-row" dogs. Now we are fortunate to be seeing our support from donors, volunteers, fosters, and adopters grow, so we are able to help more needy dogs.
