Boone's Story

Hi. I'm Boone! I'm a sweet and gentle 3-year-old boy with the cutest face - so much expression in my brows don't you think!!

You may have seen me here for a while now, looking for my new home. Please don't be scared by that, I'm a really sweet boy and I've really come a long way since I was saved from the scarey shelter. You see, I can be a tad shy sometimes with new friends. New dog friends are a breeze and I get along with them all but human friends are a teeny bit different for me.

So what exactly does "shy" mean? I'm not even sure if shy is the right word - maybe cautious is better? There are some humans I like instantly and there are others that just take me a bit longer to warm up to. I'm not sure why because everyone is so nice to me. But don't worry, I've never growled or snapped at anyone ever, even at the scary vet I did ok. I just need humans that will understand what a sweet boy I am and give me the chance to prove it. I promise, it won't take long.

I really do like having a dog friend, too. Humans are cool but another confident, easy going dog in the home can show me the ropes. I LOVE going on walks and I am really good on my walks. I love sniff walks and going places with my friends. You don't have to worry about me barking and carrying on either, I'm a gentleman. I know to do my business outside and I'm not destructive agt all. I don't climb fences or dig under them. I pretty much like doing whatever everyone else is doing.

I would like a home that is somewhat calm with not a ton of new peeps in and out. If you do want to have some friends over, just make sure I can move away if I feel I need to. Who knows, I may just like all your friends, too. Bonus points if they bring their dogs over to play. I have not met any cats but I kind of think I would be a little scared of the hissy, spitty things (I've barked at a few......).

I'm currently hanging out with my foster mom and her dogs. It's fun and I really like her but I think I need my own forever where I can be the center of attention. If you would like to meet me, just let the kind people at the rescue know by filling out an application for yours truly!!!I

PLEASE NOTE: Boone has hip dysplasia. He has been seen by an orthopedic vet, and we were advised that surgery is not needed at this time and may never be needed. Should a veterinarian determine that Boone requires hip surgery AT ANY TIME, BAGSR will be responsible for all costs. Boone is very active and requires normal exercise. He loves to hike and explore and run with the rest of the dogs. Boone will occasionally have a very mild limp on one side, and he takes an anti-inflammatory once a day (cost also covered by BAGSR).

You like this dog...now what?

Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic

Our adoption team will spring into action to help you adopt this dog. If you have already completed the application and are approved, please phone or text your adoption counselor and we will set up a meeting. Not sure, foster first and adopt later!

BAGSR is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide the love and a soft place to crash.
https://petstablished.com/foster_form/42405/generic
