Boomer's Story
Boomer is a resilient 10-year-old neutered male with a heart as big as his story. Rescued from a high-risk situation after being found as a stray with severe ear infections and painful skin conditions, he's now on the road to recovery and thriving in foster care.

He is currently receiving treatment for ear infections and allergy-related skin issues and is responding very well. As he continues to feel better, his personality is really starting to shine.

Boomer is completely deaf, but that doesn't slow him down. He is learning hand signals for basic commands and already understands "sit," "come," "no," and "good boy."

He's eager to keep learning and communicates well through visual cues and consistency. He is also fully potty trained.

Now that he's feeling better, Boomer has shown he loves staying active. Walks are one of his favorite activities, though he can pull strongly on the leash, so a harness is recommended to prevent strain on his neck. He is currently working on improving his leash manners.

Around the home, he enjoys exploring and will happily trot from room to room to check in on his people. He prefers to be near his humans and will seek them out if they move to another room. He's also quite clever and can open lever-style door handles, so a secure environment is important. If he can't reach you, he'll patiently wait nearby or settle when given direction.

He does well when left at home (alone or with other dogs) and typically relaxes in his bed. Like many curious dogs, he may get into the trash if it's accessible, so simple management and prevention go a long way.

Boomer is looking for a home that will continue guiding him as he learns and grows, while appreciating the quiet, steady companionship he offers in return. His expressive eyes say it all - he's ready to form a deep bond with someone who will give him the second chance he's been waiting for.
