Boomer - Special Needs!'s Story

Boomer is currently in West Virginia with the rescue "Saving Webster Dogs," where he has been waiting for a family for about 16 months, so we are trying to find Boomer a home in the Gentle Jake's Coonhound Rescue family. If we are succcessful, we will have him transported to his new people.

Boomer suffers from laryngeal paralysis, which causes ongoing respiratory issues. It is believed to be a neurological condition and also makes him somewhat uncoordinated. He can lurch around while he is walking, but it doesn't stop him from enjoying life!

Boomer is more than ready for the good life: soft beds, long naps, and some outdoor playtime. Now living in a foster home, Boomer is doing well and showing what a sweet, laid-back companion he can be. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving hound with plenty of life left and a deep appreciation for home comforts, Boomer is your boy.

Boomer is 6-7 years old, neutered/vaccinated, and is about 30 kg or 66 lbs. He was obese and is now at a normal, sturdy weight. He is cared for lovingly by a rescue-supporting foster home in West Virginia.

He is great with dogs and people. We don't know about children. He is definitely not good with cats.
