BOOMER's Story

MEET BOOMER!

Boomer is a 90 lb gentle giant who’s looking for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. Rescued from the euthanasia list at county due to a treatable eye infection, Boomer arrived scared and unsure — but with time and patience, he’s been growing more confident every day.

He’s house trained, crate trained, and loves lounging poolside or cruising in the car. He enjoys sunbathing, snuggling his humans, and bringing you his toys to start a game. He’ll also happily entertain himself by making up his own silly games.

Boomer is full of goofy charm (yes, he’s afraid of his own farts) and affection, but he’s still learning how to process boredom or loneliness — which can lead to destructive behavior if left unchecked. He needs a patient, experienced owner who can continue building his confidence and help him understand that love and attention are always there, even when you're not in the same room.

Boomer also has some special medical needs: he receives a Cytopoint injection every eight weeks for allergies and requires daily wrinkle wipes to keep his face healthy.

Boomer Would Thrive In a Home With:
• A calm, confident, and experienced dog owner
• A secure, fenced yard (6 ft required)
• A regular routine and positive reinforcement training
• Someone committed to his ongoing medical care
• A laid-back lifestyle with plenty of cuddle time and affection

Boomer is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a soft place to land.

Ready to meet Boomer? DID YOU KNOW?: All of Underdog's animals are fully vetted prior to adoption, including spay/neutered, and vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. All of our pets are placed into loving, caring foster homes until they are adopted. This is so they have been fully acclimated to a home environment prior to going to a new family. They are typically fully housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, and know basic commands. All potential adopters are required to complete an Adoption Application, review and sign our adoption Policies and Procedures and participate in a home visit conducted by one of our adoption representatives. Underdog allows a 14 day "Foster With Intent To Adopt" trial period, so that you can make sure that your new family member is a perfect fit before making if official!
