Boomer's Story

Boomer is a little ray of sunshine, and he will add so much to your life with his cheerful personality. He races around, spins, jumps, runs with his little stubby legs so fast and is very treat motivated.
He's very much a chihuahua, typical clinger but also doesn't want picked up or manhandled.
He has the absolute best zoomies when he's burning energy and teasing the bigger dogs. He loves toys and spends a lot of time hiding out in his fort with all his stuffies he likes to hump on.
Boomer is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, no parasites.
He does well on leash for the most part but can struggle with getting hooked up or a harness on.
He's crate trained and is fine hanging out in one for a while. He loves a wading pool in summer.
Boomer is located in West Richland, Washington and he's well worth the trip to meet him.
He's very treat motivated and will do almost anything for a piece of lung, liver, heart or whatever is available. He knows how to fetch toys, can sit, we're working on shake and lay down. He sleeps on me or next to me every night. He knows to curl up beside me when it's time to sleep and sometimes I wake up to him being the little spoon.
He loves to be outside and once we get a doggy door installed he should be considered potty trained, currently he will use his pads when he can't get outside in time. He's a great little man dog.
I promise he's going to brighten your day.
Boomers adoption fee is $400 and his application link is https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/owner-surrender/HAWA-A-72
He weighs around 19 pounds. His current foster momma is always willing to have him visit or you can foster him to see if he's a good fit in your home.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
