Booker’s FAQs

What is Animal Protection League’s adoption process?

Adoption applications typically take 1-2 business days to process. Once that is complete, a member of our Adoption Team will be in contact with you. As a part of our process, we do require a meet and greet appointment at our shelter in Anderson, Indiana. For dog meets, we do require that all family members (both human and canine) attend. Dog and puppy adoption fees range from $100-$250 and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, microchip, and a free wellness exam.  The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $50 and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, FIV/FELV testing, microchip, and a free wellness exam. Cats or dogs ages 8+ may qualify for a special senior discounted rate of $30 (some breeds are excluded) Dogs from the F.I.D.O. shelter dog prison program are $150.00.  They are completely vetted, crate trained, house trained, and know 5 basic commands.  If you would like information on any of the F.I.D.O. dogs, please contact Maleah Stringer at maleahstringer@aol.com.
