Booker's Story

Courtesy post only by Denton Humane Society for Denton Animal Control

Meet the handsome Booker. This stunning boy is a 4-year-old Pit Bull mix who has been in the shelter since 3/2/2026. He’s a highly social dog who thrives on human interaction and is great with children of all ages. Booker is dog-friendly, making him a wonderful companion for families with other pets. He’s crate trained, housebroken (BONUS), and potty trained, so he’s ready to settle into a home environment with ease. Booker loves toys and is very food motivated, which makes training and bonding activities especially rewarding. He already knows basic commands and responds well to positive reinforcement. With a medium energy level, he enjoys playtime but also appreciates downtime with his people. Booker loves baths, making grooming stress-free. He does have a habit of jumping on people, which is something to be mindful of, especially with small children or elderly family members, but his eagerness to please means he’s quick to learn with consistent guidance. Booker’s extended stay in the shelter is beginning to take a toll on his mental well-being. He’s showing signs of stress from the kennel environment and urgently needs a foster or adoptive home to help him decompress and thrive. Booker’s affectionate nature and readiness for family life make him an ideal foster candidate who will bring joy and companionship to any home. For adoption or foster information, call 940-349-7594 or inquire by emailing animal.services@cityofdenton.com.
