Boogie Woogie DFW's Story

Boogie Woogie: Introverted, Exclusive, and All Yours

At 8 years old and 160 pounds, Im a big ol Great Pyrenees LGD through and through, with a heart as steady as the Texas sky. Im what youd call the introverted type: calm, quiet, and content in my own company. Ive loved deeply in my life (people most of all), and I even had a best-dog buddy once. But nowadays, I know who I am, and Im not here for crowds or chaos.

I dont do small talk or social visits with other dogs. I do warm loyalty with good humans, peaceful days in the yard, snacks and long naps where I can hear you nearby. That said, Im still full of personality and when I trust you, Im absolutely down for some good playtime and backyard wrestling.

Other dogs? We coexist. Im not rude, just selective. I dont need to be bothered, and Ive got nothing to prove. Id prefer a grown-up home with mature energy, steady and low-fuss.

Im a graduate of professional training, and I mind my manners like a true southerner. Im crate trained, leash trained, and emotion-trained (if thats a thing). You wont have to work hard to win my heart: Im ready for a real, committed bond.

If youre not scared of a gentle giant
If your idea of perfect is a quiet snuggle, a good book, or a cup of coffee shared in the backyard with your dog by your side

You just might be my kind of human.

Apply today at TGPR.org!

In processing an application, we contact veterinarians to verify that all current pets are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. Dogs should be current on heartworm testing and taking a monthly heartworm preventative. Please let your vet know that we will be calling as they sometimes require your permission to provide the needed information. We will also be contacting personal references. Please let them know that we will be calling so they are not taken by surprise. If you rent your home or apartment, please alert your landlord that we will be calling to make sure large dogs are allowed there. When all references have been checked, we will then schedule a house check. This is where one of our volunteers will visit your home to meet you in person and to see the environment you will be providing. Once your application is approved, you are invited to meet any of our available dogs and to speak with any of our fosters about a particular dog.
