Meet Boogie

Boogie is the coolest dog. If you could choose only one word to describe him, it would be HAPPY. He lives to chase balls, play tug-o-war, shake his stuffies, and make you laugh. Boogie is incredibly active and playful, and would happily go hiking all day with you, but is also thrilled to run about the house and play. He can do with or without a fenced in yard, as he is very happy to walk on a leash and do his business. Boogie is also good with quiet time, and when its time to nap, he means serious business. He will curl up in a little ball and be out. If you can give him a soft bed that is up off the ground, he will be even happier, as he is a bit cat-like in that way! (He loves to sleep in a shallow box with a blanket!) One of the cutest things about Boogie is that he sleeps under the covers. Whether in your bed snuggled next to you or in his own bed, he loves you to pull a blanket over his whole little body and then he is in dreamland for the night! He will happily sleep in with you if you want!

Boogie does well with most other dogs, although he is a bit Alpha especially when it comes to toys, balls, and treats, so he may not do as well with another Alpha dog who competes for objects. He is also great with cats! Although he is good with other animals, Boogie would also do fine in a house as an only-dog, as he is very content to have his very own human(s) - and a bunch of balls - this makes him very joyful. If he had a retired person or someone who worked from home, hed be even more thrilled! He is smart and is learning new tricks and commands. Boogie is also great in a crate and will settle right in and rest. He is house trained but may take a couple weeks to figure out how to best tell you he needs to go out.
While Boogies former owner said he was eight years old, no one believes it! Not even the vet! He is spry as a puppy, has healthy teeth, and runs circles around the best of them. With his Beagle and Jack Russel (we think!) heritage, we expect Boogie to live to a good ole age.
Boogie was surrendered at eight years old by his former person, because he was moving into an apartment that would not take dogs. Boogie wants to be your new best friend and bring you lots of joy and love for years to come. Its sure hard not to smile around this guy!

*Boogie is located in Colorado. Helpless Hounds transports all over the country*
