BOO's Story

04/18/26 18:11 From the foster: This is Boo. A beautiful young girl with long legs, pearly white teeth, sparkly dark brown fur and a cute white stripe down her nose. She loves to cuddle, get belly rubs, lounge in the sunshine, throw her toys in the air and catch them and zoom around! We believe she is at the most 2 years old but probably younger with a super playful and sometimes mischievous spirit. She was found as a stray and brought into the shelter with a male dog. They were extremely bonded. The male went back home but Boo was left at the shelter. She is in a foster home now adjusting to being on her own and needs to build up her confidence. She has not been tested with indoor cats yet but she sees a rooster in her front yard everyday and completely ignores it. She does like to chase squirrels on her walks, but can be redirected to leave them alone. She is currently being tested with dogs to see what a good match for her would be. She has very high energy when she zooms around so she’s best around older children that understand that. Boo handles beautifully. She loves getting her teeth brushed every night and allows us to cut her nails and give her a bath even though they aren’t her favorite activities. The thing about Boo is you need to give her time to get to know you. She is uncertain with new people especially men or people who approach her too fast and will bark at them. But once she trusts you, she will be your best friend. In her foster home she lives with her foster grandma who is in an electric wheelchair and Boo is so gentle and loving with her. She has a very sweet spirit. She is super smart and eager to please which makes training her lots of fun and she’s very treat motivated. Currently she is learning all her good manner commands like sit, down, heel, touch, mat and come. She is also fully house trained and she learned how to use the dog door in one day! Did I mention how smart she is? An ideal home would be with someone willing to continue her training, help build her confidence and take introductions very slow. In return you will be getting the most loving playful cuddly best friend that will add so much joy to your life.
