Bonnie Parker's Story

Meet Bonnie: A Diamond in the Rough Looking for Her Perfect Match

Bonnie is a sweet 5-year-old, 50-pound Labrador mix with the most adorable asymmetrical charm - one perfectly floppy ear and soulful puppy dog eyes that will melt your heart. This naturally slender girl is camera-shy but absolutely gorgeous in person.

Bonnie Parker came from a challenging situation where she lived with 20+ other dogs before finding herself at the shelter after her owner passed away. Volunteers took to this shy girl immediately, noticing her soft and sensitive soul. Our team at Dog Coalition LA saw her tolerant and dainty nature in play groups with other dogs and helped to place her in a foster home shortly thereafter.

Despite her past, she's shown remarkable resilience and is blossoming in foster care, discovering what it means to be someone's special girl. Bonnie is fostered in a home with another (smaller) resident dog with whom she coexists well. Her foster sibling is helping to provide her with stability and confidence both in the home and out in the world. Don't let her initial shyness fool you - Bonnie is a gem waiting to shine. She's naturally timid and easily startled, but with patience and gentle encouragement, her confidence grows daily. She's incredibly well-mannered, fully house and crate trained, and doesn't cause any trouble. Once she bonds with you (and she will!), you'll have the sweetest, most loyal companion.

Bonnie would thrive in a quiet, patient household where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. A fenced yard would be ideal as she's still adjusting to the wider world. She's been polite but reserved with other dogs and children - typical of her cautious nature. She is looking for a loving forever home that will continue to provide her with consistency, patience, and gentleness as continues to come out of her shell. If you're looking for a gentle soul who will reward your patience with unwavering devotion, Bonnie might just be your perfect match.

What You Should Know About Bonnie Parker:

- Enjoys peaceful walks, though she's still building courage around cars

- Content to nap quietly while you work - the perfect work-from-home buddy

- Excellent in her crate and handles grooming like a champ

- Food motivated: her eyes absolutely light up for little bits of cheese

To meet Bonnie Parker, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!
