Bonnie's Story

Bonnie came from a difficult hoarding situation. As a new mom of 3, Bonnie was initially very wary of humans and was on constant high alert, always feeling the need to protect her newborns. Now her pups have all found homes and she is much better. Bonnie is a small 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix, weighing in at 9 pounds.

Bonnie is super food motivated and her foster family has been patently working with her and bribing her with loads of yummy chicken to learn how to relax and trust that she is safe. It has worked wonders! Bonnies has blossomed, for there really is no other way to say it, into the dog she was always meant to be. Inside a safe environment, she is a loving sweetheart of a dog who seeks out attention, is doing fabulous at potty training, sleeps quietly in or out of a crate, and is warming up to the resident dogs.

New people are still challenging for Bonnie. When someone unfamiliar walks in, her little body tightens again. She barks, she worries, she forgets that she's safe and it's hard for her to settle down. Bonnie needs someone who can see past that first meeting and earn her trust. If you'd like to give Bonnie a loving forever home, you may apply now.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
