Bonnie's Story
BONNIE #955

Age: 1 year old

Color & Breed: Tricolor Basset

Gender:Spayed Female

Weight: 31 pounds

Required: Fenced yard

Bonnie #955 is a one-year-old spayed tricolor female basset with the sweetest brown face. She came to MNBR as a breeder release from Iowa and is making basset-sized strides at becoming a house dog. She’s comfortable in her kennel and lets herself in and out for potty breaks, although she’s still a bit of a work in progress there. She will need a fenced-in yard and a home without small children (noises are scary!) she is young and loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, so a young dog buddy would be ideal.

Take a load off and sit down at Bonnie’s level and she’ll come say hello. She’s also figuring out that toys are fun—and that everything is a toy if you wish hard enough. That includes kitchen towels, shoes, and even Christmas ornaments!

Bonnie is still a bit wary of the man in her foster home, but she will shyly sidle over for a pat if he’s sitting on the floor. She is a great little guard dog and will let you know when someone new enters the house. As she begins to find her place, she seems to have a more assertive personality.

Let Bonnie shine in your home by applying for her at https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption

MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 8 hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

Minnesota Basset Rescue (MNBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Minnesota. MNBR rehomes dogs from owners who can no longer provide their care and rescues dogs from local pounds and shelters. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Our organization provides safe, loving foster home, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities while working hard to find them a permanent, loving home!
