Bonita's Story
Meet Bonita!
And yes—she knows she’s beautiful!

Bonita was found as a stray and taken in by one of our fosters. Despite being reported to local authorities and posted online, no one came forward for her, and she has now been up for adoption with us since September.

We don’t know much about her past, except that she’s been a mama before(She LOVES puppies and is very helpful with raising her foster's pups!)
She wasn’t spayed or microchipped when found, but she’s now safe, healthy, and thriving in foster care.
Bonita is estimated to be around 3–4 years old, weighs 15 lbs, and we believe she’s a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix.

She can be a bit shy at 1st but once she warms up, Bonita’s sweet and loving personality shines. She loves her people and is happiest cuddled up under the covers with her favorite humans.
She’s also playful and enjoys toys, zoomies, and romping with other dogs of all sizes.
That said, her playstyle can be a bit exuberant for shy undersocialized dogs. She also does have a tendency to correct dogs who do not give her space! When she does find a dog that matches her energy, she LOVES to play with her friends very much and would do best in a home with a suitable friend or two! She gets pretty upset when she is separated from her pack as she is a social dog!

Bonita’s is fine with cats, and loves respectful kids of all ages! She is also somewhat used to farm animals.
She does pretty well on leash, in the car, and loves to go on hikes! She can definitely keep up even on longer hikes.

Her biggest quirk? Bonita can be an escape artist. For her safety, her new family must be vigilant about using a secure leash and martingale collar. Also ensuring any yard is fully fenced with no small gaps. She has gotten better about this with her foster mom, but may never truly be trusted offleash.
She is also not fully potty trained, although she has gotten much better about it, she does not love to go outside when it is too cold. She is about 75% potty trained at this point, but still has occasional accident(usually pee, she almost always goes #2 outside!)

Despite her adventurous streak, Bonita is truly a sweetheart. She “smiles” often—sometimes a little smirk, sometimes a full grin with her tail wagging a mile a minute. She loves her name and will melt in your lap when she hears it!

Bonita has so much love to give and deserves a forever family who will keep her safe and cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, and spirited companion, Bonita just might be your perfect match!

Adoption fee is $300. She is fixed, chipped, vaccinated and had a wellness exam.
