Bones's Story

Bones is a sweet, one-year-old Italian Greyhound who is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can take her time coming out of her shell. She is *very* timid and reserved, and she will need time to build trust with her new family. She isn't the type of dog who will immediately run into your arms— she will keep her distance at first while she learns that she is safe.

Even once she becomes comfortable, Bones is an independent girl with a more hands-off personality. She enjoys being near her people, but she prefers to sit close by rather than on your lap. She appreciates gentle pets on the head, but being picked up, cuddled, or smothered with affection isn't her thing. She has a quiet, almost aloof personality and is perfectly content doing her own thing while keeping an eye on her people.

One thing Bones absolutely does love is other animals! She gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats and would likely enjoy having a confident, friendly furry companion to help her feel more comfortable.

She is mostly potty trained, but she can still have accidents if she isn't supervised. Her new family will need to continue working with her on this and should plan to kennel her whenever she is home alone to help prevent accidents and maintain her routine.

Bones isn't going to be the typical cuddly, clingy Italian Greyhound, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a lot of love to give. She simply shows it in her own quiet way. She needs someone who will respect her boundaries, give her time, and celebrate the little moments when she chooses to come closer.

Her ideal home will be **patient, calm, and understanding**, with people who aren't expecting an instant bond and are willing to let a shy little girl build a relationship at her own pace.
