Bode in IA's Story
The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Bode. I am 1½ years old and weigh 23 pounds. I need a new home because I am a breeder release. I am being fostered in Ankeny, IA.

I am a very smart boy. Everything is so new to me and I am quickly learning how to be a dog outside a kennel. I've discovered toys, treats, how to use the dog door and love playing in the backyard!

My foster parents are teaching me about crate training when they have to leave me alone. I am not a huge fan since there is so much to explore but I understand I am still in a puppy phase and sometimes they need to leave the house. I will not complain when I am in the crate, I am just not a fan of going in as I am enjoying the new freedom of life on the outside. Plus I can’t get to my toys.

My foster siblings have helped me understand the basics and we get along well. I also like to play with the dog next door so I would love a big fenced-in-yard. I never knew how much fun you could have when the zoomies hit and how wonderful it feels to be in the grass.

Housetrained? In progress but I am a fast learner
Leash trained? In progress
Rides well in car? Yes
Good with other dogs? Yes
Good with cats? Unknown as I haven’t seen one yet
Good with young children? Unknown as my foster parents do not have any but tell me I would probably be scared of them .... but I will eventually warm up to them
Good with strangers? Shy and scared at first but I will warm up to strangers in time
Shy or confident? I am shy at first
Barks? No Apartment qualified? No as I am still basically a puppy and love to run
Adoption Fee? $ 450

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application.

Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
