Meet Bocephus

***FOSTERED IN TALLAHASSEE***

***REQUIRES FENCED IN YARD***

Bocephus is a 18-24 mos old male dane who we pulled from a shelter in north Florida after he and several other Danes were surrendered by their breeder to the shelter.

Bo was very scared and guarded upon arrival to his foster home. He required very slow introductions to both his new humans and fellow pack companions.  Once he settled in, he quickly became your typical Velcro Dane and glued himself to his foster mom’s side. He seems more guarded with human males but within a few days, opens to them as well. He’s just learned that a couch is the best place to sleep and is more than happy to climb up into your lap and take a nap.

Bo is basically a toddler who will need a watchful eye as he is still learning to be an indoor dog. He is a chewer and will need lots of toys to keep him occupied at all times. He is also a fan of socks and bras which his foster mom does not find as funny. He will also need a crate in his new home, or he will be destructive when left alone. He is fantastic at crating and does not fight going in or whine/bark when crated.

Since he is learning to be an indoor dog, this also means he is working on going potty outside. He is picking up from his fellow pack quickly and starting to go to the door when he needs to go out. He has accidents here and there but will be a pro in no time.

Bo is currently living with two other NWFLGDR alumni and a lab mix who he loves to play with. He doesn’t know his size and likes to body slam the lab mix who is about 50lbs so they have to have monitored playtime. He is an extremely rough player with all the dogs and would probably do better without a small dog to stomp on in his new home. There are two cats in the home as well however they stay separated from the dogs so we aren’t sure how he would react to them.

Now that Bo has made himself at home, we know that he is very loving, clumsy and playful. He is a sweet boy who just needs love, toys, a blanket to drag around and a good cartoon to watch every once in awhile. Bo is your typical Dane who deserves the best furever home possible.

Bocephus is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. His adoption fee is $400.

To read over our adoption requirements and apply to adopt Bo please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

ATTENTION: NWFLGDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT. If you are applying from out of area or out of state, understand that if your application gets approved, you will be expected to pick up the dane in the location that he/she is being fostered. In addition, if the adoption does not work out, it is your responsibility to bring the dane safely back to us.
