Bobbin's Story

This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, April 4th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, please submit an application in advance at https://www.dpsrescue.com/adopt/dog-application/.
Adoption fee: $650

Meet Bobbin — Your Gentle, Quiet Companion
Bobbin is a sweet 2 year old, 12 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who came to us from the shelter alongside her buddy Thimble. This soft-natured little lady is the definition of calm companionship. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, her gentle affection and love of belly rubs really shine. If you're looking for a peaceful, low-key friend to share your home and your sofa, Bobbin could be the perfect match.
Daily Routine & Lifestyle Bobbin enjoys a simple, predictable routine. She wakes up around breakfast time and heads out for her morning walk around 8 a.m. She walks nicely on leash and is content to stroll along at an easy pace, but she’s just as happy heading back home afterward. She also has access to a backyard whenever she needs, which suits her perfectly.
When her person is home, Bobbin likes to stay nearby, quietly keeping you company. If left alone, she settles comfortably on the sofa and relaxes until you return. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her playpen and is fully house trained — she has never had an accident in her foster home.
Personality Bobbin is a quiet girl with a very gentle soul. She enjoys being in the same room as her people and finds comfort in their presence, but she isn’t demanding or clingy. She doesn’t need to be in your lap all the time, though she’s always happy to be held when you offer.
She can be cautious when meeting new people and may need a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loving nature comes through. She especially loves belly rubs and being close to her favorite person. Sudden noises can startle her occasionally, which may result in some adorable, expressive “funny faces.”
Play Style & Energy Level Bobbin has a mellow personality and would describe herself as more of a couch potato than an athlete. She enjoys having her toys nearby and will play quietly on her own, but she’s not overly energetic. Her ideal day includes short walks, relaxing at home, and spending calm time with her people.
Training & Manners Bobbin is a very well-mannered little dog.

Fully house trained
Sleeps through the night
Walks nicely on leash
Does not chew, dig, or bark excessively
Calm and quiet in the home

She’s an easy companion who naturally fits into a peaceful household routine.
Dogs, Kids & Social Life Bobbin has shown polite curiosity toward other dogs while on walks — she’s comfortable seeing and sniffing them but can also continue on her way without fuss. She hasn’t had direct interactions with children yet, but due to her shy nature, she would likely do best in a home with older, gentle kids who can respect her need for a little patience while she settles in.

Why You’ll Love Bobbin Bobbin is the kind of dog who brings a peaceful presence into your home. She’s sweet, calm, and incredibly devoted in her own quiet way. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the sofa or gently following you from room to room, Bobbin is happiest simply being near the people she loves.
