Bobbie's Story

IN FOSTER

We need someone to see Bobbie. Really see her.

Not the scared puppy hiding underneath the table. Not the little girl who freezes when a human approaches. Not the pup who would rather disappear than risk being noticed. We need someone to look at Bobbie and see everything she can and will become.

Right now, Bobbie is terrified of the world. Humans are scary. Hands are scary. New places are scary. When she's frightened, she'll search for the smallest, safest place she can find and curl herself into it, hoping the world will simply leave her alone.

It breaks our hearts. But we know one thing for certain about Bobbie...She isn't broken. She's just never learned that she doesn't have to be afraid.

We've seen glimpses of the puppy hiding underneath all that fear. Put Bobbie around other animals and it's like someone flips a switch. She comes alive. She watches them. She follows them. She seeks comfort from them. She feels safer when she isn't facing the world alone.

We need someone patient enough to help her find herself. Bobbie needs a very special family. A family who understands that earning her trust may take time. A family who won't expect her to become a confident, carefree girl overnight. She's searching for a family who will celebrate the tiny victories; the first time she chooses to come closer, the first time she accepts a gentle scratch, the first time she decides that maybe a human hand isn't something to fear.

That a voice can be soft.

That a home can be safe.

That people can be good.

She needs someone who is willing to put in the work to build her confidence and give her the life she should have always known.

And we know she can do it.

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adoption from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption exam at a local clinic.
