Bobbi's Story
I have an Adoption Pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need. Thank you!

Animal hoarding almost always comes from a true love and concern for the animals. Hoarders typically have every intention of caring for or adopting out the animals they take in. Yet the nature of their disease makes it difficult for them to let go or provide the necessary attention the pets need. This was the situation that Bobbi came from - a kind man named Billy had a small rescue but due to an illness, he wound up unable to care for himself and the dogs.

Bobbi is a lovely Golden mix who is believed to be about 9 years old. She was Billy's favorite dog with her gentle demeanor and compact size of 38 lbs. When she first arrived to our rescue, Bobbi had a difficult time and it seemed she was deeply mourning the loss of her dad. She has since started to relax and is coming around now. Our volunteer said that Bobbi is like a different dog than the one that originally arrived at our rescue. She is social with the other dogs and is so much more comfortable. No more random barking and lots of tail wagging now. When tested, Bobbi was indifferent to the cats at the clinic.

Due to the neglectful conditions that Bobbi lived in, her fuzzy-wuzzy coat was a matted mess (see photo) and Bobbi needed to be shaved down. Her fur is starting to grow back in again and she still has that beautiful plume of a tail! Bobbi will be looking more like her true self in no time. Just take a look at the cute video of our sweet and affectionate teddy bear girl!

Bobbi is micro-chipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and has been given a Proheart 6 injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention.

When Bobbi arrives to her new home, it will take her a bit of time to settle in and unpack her baggage, but once she does, we anticipate she will form a wonderful bond with her new humans. If your specialty is TLC and you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Mary at: monte4paw36@protonmail.com to be considered.

Bobbi is ready to meet her forever family and will be coming north in late November to be directly adopted. Could that possibly be YOU?

Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.

If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to learn more and to submit an online application: http://sunshinegoldenrescue.com/adoption-info1.html

Please direct any questions regarding your application status to: ajpillinger@gmail.com

Thank you!

ABOUT OUR RESCUE
Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters will be required to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may indicate that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are frequently getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and complete the application process so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready.

The information provided on each dog is based on the observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters, and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will behave and adapt in your home.

ADOPTION FEES - Effective October 1, 2024

PUREBRED DOGS
$1000 Purebred puppies, up to 6 months
$800 Purebred dogs, 6 months - 6 years
$650 Purebred dogs, 7 - 9 years
$550 Purebred dogs, 10 years and up

$650 Young dogs with special needs
$500 Senior dogs with special needs

$1600 Pairs of Purebred Puppies, up to 6 months
$1400 Bonded pair - young purebred dogs
$1000 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up

MIXED BREED DOGS
$850 Up to 6 months
$750 6 months - 6 years
$650 7 - 9 years
$550 10 years and up

$650 Young dogs with special needs
$500 Senior dogs with special needs

$1000 Bonded pair - young dogs
$900 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up

A contract is signed on the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring their SGRR dog to a vet within 7 business days. All dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. However, if an adopter's vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog may be returned and a full refund would be provided.

Most of our dogs are fostered in private homes. We do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! To this end, the rescue retains an interest in each dog and our dogs can never be surrendered, re-homed, or sold. Should an adopter no longer be able to keep their SGRR dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer providing proper care. Adopters agree to follow up visits as needed.

Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical care and other expenses.
