Blush's Story
Blush is a 2-year-old, 50 lb Pit Bull mix who is starting her next chapter and learning what life in a home is all about.

When Blush first came to us, she was described as calm and easygoing — but now that she’s settling into foster care, we’re seeing her true personality come out, and she’s got a lot more spark than we initially thought!

Blush is a sweet, happy girl who absolutely loves people and enjoys the company of other dogs. Once she’s comfortable with you, her personality really shines — she’s playful, energetic, and full of life. She will need a home that can match her energy level and give her the outlet she needs, whether that’s a fenced yard or an active lifestyle. She would also love another male dog friend to show her the ropes of being a house dog.

That said, Blush is still learning the ropes of being a house dog.

She is crate trained and does great in her crate, even for longer periods. However, she is not fully potty trained yet — not because she can’t be, but because she is very nervous outside. She needs a patient adopter who understands that potty time may take a while and is willing to give her the time (and lots of sniffing!) she needs to feel comfortable.

Blush will need:

-A patient adopter committed to working on potty training

- Another confident Male dog in the home

-Someone willing to spend time outside helping her build confidence

-Structure, routine, and consistency

As she continues to decompress, Blush has shown that she can be a bit jumpy when excited — she’s just so happy to see her people! Because of this, we think she would do best in a home with older children while she continues working on her manners.

The good news?

Blush is smart, eager, and already making progress in foster care. With the right home, she has all the potential to become an incredible dog.

Blush’s Details:

-2 years old

-50 pounds

-Spayed female

-Pit Bull mix

-Dog friendly

-Crate trained

-Active, playful personality

-Needs continued work on potty training and manners

Blush isn’t a “plug and play” dog — but she is the kind of dog that will form an incredibly strong bond with the person willing to put in the time for her.

If you’re looking for a dog you can grow with, work with, and ultimately build an amazing relationship with — Blush might be your girl.

Apply for Blush: www.freedomfirstrescue.com/Blush
