Bluey Louey's Story
The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

Sometimes, the dogs who need us most are the ones who have already spent a lifetime loving someone else. Bluey Louey is one of those special dogs.

Bluey Louey appears to be a Maltese mix who was adopted from a city shelter when he was just one year old. For the next 13 years, he presumably had a family and a home to call his own. Then, heartbreakingly, he was found wandering the streets and ended up back in a shelter.

We simply couldn’t leave this little senior man behind. We pulled Bluey Louey from the shelter and placed him in a loving foster home, giving him the chance to decompress, feel safe, and enjoy some well-deserved TLC. And what we’ve discovered is that Bluey Louey is a great little dog.

He absolutely loves his people and enjoys being close to those he trusts. And if you happen to have treats nearby, be prepared—this little guy gets very excited about them!

Bluey Louey is housebroken, but because he’s a senior, he needs to follow a regular potty schedule, with trips outside about every 3–4 hours, especially after his naps. He no longer has his teeth, and he’s also hard of hearing, so his new family will need to be patient and understanding of his senior-dog needs.

What Bluey Louey needs most isn’t a perfect home. He needs a forever home—a quiet, loving place where someone will appreciate an older dog and give him the security and unconditional love he deserves.

After giving 13 years of his life to a family, Bluey Louey shouldn’t have to spend his golden years wondering where he belongs.

He’s ready to be someone’s little old man again.

If you have room in your heart for a sweet senior who simply wants to be loved, Bluey Louey would love to meet you.
