He was given this name because of his beautiful eyes that captivate you even when his comical antics get the best of you. He is a young lanky boy probably just close to a year old that is clumsy, energetic and absolutely embraces the world around him. <br/>Blue knows a solid “sit” command and loves treats! He responds well to reward with treats, and has been learning how to take his treats gently. Volunteers have been working with him on this and he is doing so much better from when he arrived at the shelter with little to no manners. He has learned down, spin and patience when playing with certain toys. <br/>Blue also came to the shelter with no real leash experience and has really learned the fine art of walking with his human pal, embracing structure and good manners. With continued training, he will surely excel. He also has gone on runs with a shelter volunteer who specifically comes to the shelter to run many of the dogs. <br/>He loves to jump around, is super agile, plays with some fun toys and the more exercise he gets, the better for him. Blue would love an active home to show him the ropes of being a great team. Because of his enthusiasm and young dog energy, a home without small kids might be best to start. He is like a young kid himself and just needs some fine tuning to get him up to snuff and we are sure he will then be fine in any family setting. <br/>He has met other shelter dogs but will need a dog that will understand his energy level and have a playful style. A meet and greet is always needed with a resident dog in a home. <br/>If you are willing to give this young guy a helping hand to be the best dog he can be…. Stop on down and meet him…. Working as a team to help a shelter dog is one of the most rewarding experiences ever….
