Meet Blue

Blue is a giant sized lover boy, a total romantic, who enjoy’s spending his time sun bathing out in the yard, napping the day away, or chewing a cow ear. He’s 5 years old and has a blissful calm temperament. But can be playful too, with the right playmate. He’s never met a human he didn’t love!
He’s currently in a foster home with a 2 year old female Great Dane & they get along great.
Blue has also had befriended two family friend female dogs - a pitbull and a lab/heeler mix - who he’s around frequently. And he also has weekly play dates with another NWFLGDR foster family who has a female dane, a male and female greyhound, and a female lab - and he does well with all of them.
He can sometimes be male dog selective - but with proper intros he is fine - as long as the dog isn’t pushy or super hyper and in his face.
Blue does know how to open doors for himself and isn’t shy about letting himself out for a tour of the front yard and to take a nice pee on the mailbox; so it’s important to ensure all doors and gates are secured. He knows how to sit and is working on other basic obedience commands too.
Blue takes corrections quickly & proactively and is now crate trained and completely potty trained by doggy door; however when he is introduced to a new environment he may “mark” the new space with a few pee spots. This only happened a few times when initially arriving to his foster home. He’s also great on leash & loves walks.
Blue has not been around any children while with his foster family but they believe he would be great with them, as long as they are big enough to not get smooshed!
All in all, Blue is a lover boy. He’s a stage 5 clinger! He’s VERY playful and youthful now too and would make an excellent best friend for someone looking for a loyal sidekick!

In addition, if the adoption does not work out, it is your responsibility to bring the dane safely back to us.
