Blue's Story
Adoptable Blue

Blue is one of the six Catahoula leopard dog puppies we saved back in February. He is currently about 5 months old, and about 35 pounds. Blue had an adoption lined up almost immediately when he came into rescue, and waited a few weeks to go to his new home. Despite Blue being the best boy he could be, the other dogs in the home did not adjust well to him, and it wasn’t a good situation for him to remain in. He was sadly returned to the rescue.

The good news is that Blue has been doing WONDERFUL back in foster care! He’s been in a fantastic foster home with a fenced yard and other dogs to play with. Blue has been doing great with his puppy obedience skills, and his fosters have worked hard with him to get him ready for adoption again.

Notes from Blue’s foster parents:
- He is very affectionate. LOVES to snuggle with humans and other dogs!
- He loves to play! He can be vocal, (a common trait of Catahoulas), so you must be okay with the playful talk!
- Doing great with potty training!
- Prefers to free roam instead of being crated, (don’t they all??), but is working on his crate training skills!
- Great with cats and respects their space!

Our ideal adopter for Blue:
- A person/family with a fenced yard for him to run and play in
- Someone with an active lifestyle
- At least one other dog in the home that enjoys the company of and play time with another dog
- Someone who is not gone 8 hours everyday (because Blue’s breed, he is not an ideal candidate for being crated all day long)!
- Someone willing to continue his training so that he can continue being the best boy!

If interested in meeting Blue, please fill out an application on our website! We highly encourage potential adopters to do their research on Blue’s breed before applying, to better understand if he could be a good fit for you.

Bridgebetweenanimalrescue.org
