Blu True best friend to you's Story

If you’d like to continue your adoption search, please visit us directly on our website to see close to 1000 very deserving, and adorable variety of pups and cats in our program. Mention “home for the holidays” to your adoption coordinator to receive $50 off of your adoption through Jan 31, 2026. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/pages/adopt

His name is Blu only because it's his color, not because he has got the saddies, in fact he fights away any blues. If you love the big boys with simple ways, Blu is going to go right for your heart. Take him for a pup cup and experience the politeness, patience, and sweetness for yourself.

With a dog like him it is hard to know where to start but lets get the “business” out of the way- Blu is estimated to be 3 years old and is possibly a Staffie/pitbull mix but given he is a rescue we cannot offer his age or breed with 100% certainty. Those are just details, what really matters is the heart of him, and thats one big ol’ loving heart.

Watch blu and make him your boo!

https://youtu.be/fxSEl9lp508?si=YbLooOCKyLW93Tw4

If you are looking for a running partner, he might miss the mark there, but if you are looking for a solid presence, sweet kisses, and a side of couch potato, you are in the right spot. On leash, Blu forgets he is a big boy in the sense that he needs the occasional reminder that y’all are walking together, when he gets a little power up he can pull but he is receptive to corrections simply being reminded that he is on leash. He is a big, lovable guy who is eager to learn and treat motivated, a combination that will make him receptive to learning new skills by your side. When passing another dog he will show interest but he is not going to insist on meeting them or give them much more than a friendly glance and maybe an excited body wiggle. Blue does know sit and is very patient when waiting for a treat, with a soft mouth once he is allowed to take it from your hand.

Blu was introduced to a few new dogs to get a feel for his play style and the type of dogs that he makes connections with. During on-leash greetings he was polite with an obvious happy enthusiasm to meet a new friend. Once they met, each and every time we expected him to turn all that happy wiggle into a play session with his new friend but instead, he walked off, strutted is more like it. From there he was easy-company, happily grazing with the dogs, sharing treats, or simply walking along together. He may not have a super playful side but he is a great companion that isn’t pushy or insistent. At the end of the day, Blu is more of a people's dog than a dogs dog. He seeks out attention from people and that's where he is always found. An ideal home for Blu would be one where he is your only fur baby in the home. He gets so much fulfillment from the connection with his people that he does not need a dog to be satisfied and ultimately wants to be the center of your world. Cozy places to nap, treats and a steady supply of toys paired with belly rubs and a few smooches is his version of heaven. No cats for Blu though, he is a bit too interested, looking at them almost like he isn’t sure if that is just a fun new toy. Either way, he would approach it all wrong and that is no fun for anyone. A home with a yard would be ideal and given his size and love for toys, older kids would be best. Older kids have steady legs and don’t leave toys laying around that Blu could confuse as a new dog toy. He is fully comfortable with kids. Blu won’t add to any teenage chaos— he is a calming presence. From everything we have seen and a detail we pay close attention to when a dog is in a home- he is fully house and crate trained! Another way the slightly older dogs are such a catch

Don’t let the look of Blu fool you, he is full of love and ready for forever.
Questions? We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.

It doesn’t stop there! Three Little Pitties Rescue's Adoption Policy
Three Little Pitties Rescue is a foster-based, all-breed rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats from desperate situations in Houston, vetting them, and sending them to loving forever homes in northern regions. We are proud to adopt out animals who we have poured time, love, and money into preparing for adoption. We do our very best to provide top notch medical care. Dogs come with 2 to 6 months of heartworm prevention, or a ProHeart6 heartworm prevention injection, or they have been treated already for heartworms if positive. All of the animals with Three Little Pitties Rescue come from Houston. We have a desperate situation here and we are saving as many as we can. Our animals are either located in foster homes in the PNW already, or they are scheduled to travel there in the next 2 weeks. Adopters will have a phone interview with an adoption coordinator, have a reference and vet check, speak with the foster directly about the dog, sign an adoption contract, and pay an adoption fee. For dogs already located in the PNW with a foster, you will have the opportunity for a meet and greet to see the dog in person. For dogs who have not yet departed Houston, you will be offered a FaceTime call with the pet, and there may be an opportunity to meet the dog in person once it has arrived in your region if it is assigned to a foster home. We love all of our animals that we save. Our animals are transported in a nice semi truck with a transport team in the trailer with them at all times. Three Little Pitties Rescue is seeking adopters who are committed to the health and happiness of their newly adopted family members. We receive incredible feedback from our adopters about their experience in saving a life through our rescue. Thank you for taking a look at what we do and we hope you will consider one of our beloved dogs or cats for adoption!
