Blu is a 6-year-old 74-pound healthy male GSP and is ready to be adopted in the state of Pennsylvania (no exceptions). He's neutered, up-to-date with all his vaccines, and on preventives. Overall, Blu is an incredible dog with lots of potential. He wins your heart over instantly with his big ears, timid personality, and doofy GSP antics. <br/>Blu is housebroken and crate trained. He instantly picked up the tap at the back door to be let out to go potty and has had no accidents in the house. Blu sleeps well throughout the night in his crate with the door open or closed. We have also let him roam amongst the house and he chooses his crate or the living room couch with our other GSP. He could also be talked into coming into the bed by literally saying ‘Come on up, Blu’, but will adhere to a no dog in bed policy. He does the same with couches, as he will only come up if invited. <br/>He may be a big boy but he’s great and extremely gentle with kids. His previous home had toddlers, and the foster home has twin 6-year-olds. He thinks he’s part of their kid crew. Blu also lived with six! cats and older dogs in his previous home and currently lives with two dogs (a 13-year-old GSP male & 6-year-old female black lab) and fits right into the pack.<br/>He is not leash trained but usually gets tired of pulling, and lets go a little, but if he sees something of interest, he will pull. He has not been e-collar trained but has potential. A fenced yard is recommended as he grew up with one. He’ll chase small animals, so a fence will help provide that boundary between him and other animals.<br/>Blue has Velcro GSP tendencies, so prepare to be nudged for cuddles. His ideal day is hanging out in the sun, snacking on some apples with you, a few throws of the ball, which he does set down nicely for you to throw again, and just being around his family.
