Meet Blu <br/><br/>Blu has a story that's both heartbreaking and hopeful.<br/><br/>When Blu first arrived at New Chances, we were told he was only 2 years old. After examining him, our veterinarian believes he's actually closer to 7 years old. Life has simply been harder on him than it should have been.<br/><br/>Blu came to us after his owner went to jail. For a month, we cared for him while he waited for his dad to come back. Then one day, his owner finally returned. We all thought Blu was going home. Instead, after spending a little time with him, his owner looked at us and said he just couldn't take him back.<br/><br/>Imagine being Blu. The person you loved came back... only to say goodbye.<br/><br/>Despite that heartbreak, Blu has never stopped being a good boy.<br/><br/>When he arrived, he was underweight, battling Giardia, suffering from severe allergies, and had never been neutered & was needing to be vaccinated. Since then, he's been treated for Giardia, neutered, microchipped, brought current on his vaccines, and has gained 7 healthy pounds. He's healthier, happier, and finally getting the care he always deserved.<br/><br/>Blu isn't looking for an exciting life—he's looking for his life. He's a couch companion, a porch sitter, and the kind of dog who's happiest just hanging out with his people. He's not a lap dog—he's a lounge dog. But don't let that fool you... hand him a tennis ball and watch him come alive. Fetch is one of his absolute favorite games.<br/><br/>Blu doesn't need perfection.
