Meet Blu
Blu has just arrived into Rescue. This dashingly handsome German Shepherd is 4 years of age, born in July of 2016. And yes, he is named for his Blue hue. He is a Blue German Shepherd color wise, which you don’t see very often.
Blu arrived into our care after his owner passed away suddenly and the surviving owner wasn’t well enough to care for Blu. Fortunately, he reached out to us for help.
Blu seems to really enjoys having other dogs to play with. He loves to be near his people as well. When he naps near you he will make sure to be touching you in some way with his nose, foot or head. He gets anxious when he knows his human is leaving the house but once left alone in the house he will snooze on the couch and await your return.
Blu seems to prefers positive praise over treats as he isn’t very food motivated; which is good because this handsome fluff ball needs to lose a few pounds. Haha! He is at 110 lbs and an ideal weight, according to our vet, would be around 100 lbs.
We have not had Blu around cats, so a home without is best.
His energy level is perfect for any adventure: jog at the park, afternoon on the couch, swim session at the dog park- He just wants to do what you want to do. This boy sure loves to visit Starbucks and get a puppuccino and pets. His favorite activity is visiting his dog friends for play time. Blu is super social and has done well meeting dogs of all genders and sizes. He is potty trained. His recall is good and will only get better with practice. Blu is currently working on his leash manners. At bed time he likes to sleep next to his human. Though, as the night goes on, he gets hot and finds a cool spot on the floor nearby.
