BLIND_POLAfromAzerbaijan's Story

Pola the handome German Shepherd comes all the way from Azerbaijan - former Soviet Republic where pets are mistreated or dumped to survive in harsh streets - to find his forever family.

Pola is blind, but extremely intelligent. Staff describe him as gentle and curious and playful (see pics and vids). He is a sweet and loving boy!

Quotes from the shelter staff who know him well: " Pola is blind, but he navigates spatially around familiar areas quite well. He is a very calm and kind dog and is desperate for a family of his own. The vet in Azerbaijan attempted to neuter him twice, but he is very sensitive to anesthesia, and the vet did not proceed with surgery. Since he is generally a mellow and less active fellow and does not respond to females, there will be no problems with him. We are not taking him for neutering after the last time; we are afraid that due to his sensitivity he might be left on the table ;-( "

Pola is well socialized with dogs, but might be happiest in a home alone or with one other dog so he can finally have the attention he has longed for. He has been tested with kids and cats, and for food aggression, and has passed all of his tests. Since he is blind, we recommend only older kids.

Foster to adopt options available.

To apply for this once in a lifetime friend, please copy and paste the link: https://gwarp.org/adopt/dog/
Follow up by texting Alison at 267-639-0894

His fee is $400 to help defray his high international transport costs.
