Blaze's Story
Meet Blaze — Your Gentle Little Shadow

Blaze is a 25lb, 3 year old sweetheart from a hoarding case who just wants to feel safe and loved. He's calm, cuddly, and happiest curled up next to his person while you work or relax.

He loves walks and is learning that people on walks aren't so scary, and while he may still give a small grrr sometimes, he's improving each time! Inside the home, he's relaxed, gentle, and easy to be around. He's also an impressive jumper, so gates are no match for him. Blaze has been doing very well with his potty training, hasn't had any issues recently. His foster has been working on his crate confidence with treats, and he will go in on his own - he just hasn't been closed inside yet, so it's a gentle work in progress.

Blaze is still learning how to navigate the world, and with kids hes been unsure — though he made a big step recently by staying calm around children at the playground. Because hes sensitive and easily overwhelmed, he'd do best with respectful, dog-savvy kids 12+.

One thing Blaze truly needs is another dog in the home. He has never been alone before, and having a confident, friendly dog to learn from would help him build confidence, understand that it's okay when humans leave, and show him how to be a dog. Being an only dog right away would be too much for him until he feels fully safe and settled.

Blaze needs someone patient who can help him grow braver in the outside world. In return, he'll be the sweetest, most loyal little companion.
